Reebok player with Jumpman Tattoo
Wow, so the Magic just lost Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs and now they’re down 3-1. Will they make it through another game in Los Angeles? More importantly, does SeaWorld know Stan Van Gundy is missing? MOST importantly, who is Marcin Gortat, and how do you even pronounce his name? You might also be asking yourself why you care about pronouncing his name right, right? Although he hasn’t received a lot of media exposure or playing time during the 2009 NBA Playoffs, Marcin Gortat (pronounced MAR-chean GOR-tat) is starting to make a lot of news these days. Allegedly his shoe sponsor, Reebok, is HEATED because he was recently featured in a Polish newspaper sporting an Air Jordan Jumpman logo tattoo on his right calf. Reports indicate that Reebok called and asked Gortat either to wear higher socks to cover the Jumpman tattoo, or to apply makeup over the ink so it wouldn’t be noticed for the rest of the Playoffs.
Gortat’s rebuttal? He basically laughed and told Reebok to kiss his Airs! JordanDepot News will share more details as they come in, so stay tuned… Three funny things to come from this story so far:
A) Reebok actually sponsors uber no-name bench warmers?
B) Marcin’s had the tattoo since before he even inked the deal with Reebok!
C) Reebok probably doesn’t even pay him enough to remove the Gortat-too…
